Need help with these options?
Lower quality usually means a smaller JPG or WebP, with less detail. PNG keeps its detail and has no quality slider.
JPG is common for photos. PNG keeps transparent backgrounds and sharp screenshots. WebP is useful for smaller website images.
Four simple steps
How to use it
Choose the images you want to change.
Choose the output format: JPEG, PNG or WebP.
If you choose JPEG, pick the background color for any transparent areas, then select “Process files”.

A few words, made simple
- Output format
- The type of file you will download. Your original file stays unchanged.
- JPG / JPEG
- Good for photos; transparent areas must become a solid color.
- PNG
- Keeps transparent areas and is useful for logos or screenshots.
- WebP
- Often useful for smaller website images and transparent backgrounds.
- Transparency
- An area you can see through. JPEG replaces it with your chosen background color.
Good to know
PNG and WebP support transparency. JPEG does not: transparent areas are flattened against your selected background. HEIC, SVG, TIFF and GIF are not accepted. Browser format support is checked during export.
Animated images become a single still image. Re-encoding can change colors and image quality. Compression can produce a larger file; compare before downloading.
Frequently asked questions
Which format should I choose?
Use JPG for ordinary photos, PNG for screenshots or transparency, and WebP for websites that accept it. Check what your destination requires.
Does changing the format change my original?
No. You download a new file; your original stays on your device.
Will PNG add transparency to an ordinary photo?
No. Conversion preserves existing transparency when supported, but does not remove a photographed background.
Can I convert PNG to JPG with a white background?
Yes. Select JPEG and keep the white background, or choose any other solid color.
Will converting to PNG improve a blurry JPEG?
No. Changing formats cannot recover detail that was already lost. PNG may also be much larger.
