Need help with these options?

Four simple steps

How to use it

  1. Choose your images, or drag them into the box.

  2. For JPG or WebP, lower the quality if you want a smaller file. PNG has no quality setting.

  3. Select “Process files” and compare the original with the result.

  4. Check the new size, then select “Download” for each image you want to keep.

When should you use this tool?

A few words, made simple

Compression
Making a file take up less storage space. A smaller file may have less detail.
Quality
A higher setting keeps more detail but usually produces a larger file.
JPG / JPEG
A common format for photos. It uses some loss of detail to keep files small.
PNG
Useful for screenshots and transparent backgrounds. It keeps detail but can be larger.
WebP
A format for websites that can keep transparency and produce small files.
Good to know

The original format is preserved. Browser encoders may produce a larger file, especially for an already optimized image. Lower quality can soften text and introduce artifacts. Keep the original when the result does not meet your needs.

Animated images become a single still image. Re-encoding can change colors and image quality. Compression can produce a larger file; compare before downloading.

Frequently asked questions

Will my photos lose quality?

JPG and WebP may lose detail, especially at low quality. PNG uses lossless encoding. Compare text and small details before saving.

Can I do several images at once?

Yes: up to ten images and 60 MB total, within the per-file and pixel limits shown above. Each result has its own download.

Are my photos uploaded to the internet?

No. The browser processes them on your device. FIXLY does not receive the files.

Does compression always save space?

No. The result may be larger. FIXLY shows the actual difference and lets you inspect the image.

Is PNG compression adjustable?

PNG uses lossless browser encoding. Use the converter for a smaller JPEG or WebP if losing transparency or some quality is acceptable.
