PDF to Markdown · plain text by page
Export existing PDF text as Markdown grouped by page. Local extraction with explicit limits: no table or heading reconstruction.
Unencrypted PDFs without forms, portfolios or digital signatures only. Page copying can lose bookmarks, accessibility tags, attachments and some links. Keep the originals and review the result. This is not a PDF sanitizer.

When to use it

Limits and privacy
Extracts an existing text layer, without OCR. Reading order, tables and spacing can differ. Markdown contains plain text grouped by page; it does not reconstruct headings or tables.
PDF parsing keeps the document in memory. Limits of 25 MB per PDF, 60 MB per batch and 300 pages help bound memory on mobile devices. Rendering is limited to 16 megapixels per page, and exports to 120 MB. Very complex files can still exceed device memory.
Questions and answers
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Processing and preview run in your browser. Reloading or starting again releases the session. Nothing is saved to a user account.
Why are there technical limits?
PDF parsing keeps the document in memory. Limits of 25 MB per PDF, 60 MB per batch and 300 pages help bound memory on mobile devices. Rendering is limited to 16 megapixels per page, and exports to 120 MB. Very complex files can still exceed device memory.
Is the original replaced?
No. FIXLY downloads a new file. Keep the source and check the exported pages, fonts, links and layout before relying on it.
